Friday Find: Easy DIY Art

Last time I was at IKEA, I saw this fabric and fell in love! I decided to use it to make some inexpensive art. Here's how:

1. Gather your materials - you will need: fabric, scissors, a staple gun, and blank stretched canvases (I bought mine at Joann Fabric for around $6 each.)

2. Decide which part of the print you want for each canvas, then position the canvas on your fabric. Cut your fabric out around the canvas, leaving about two inches extra.

3. Flip the canvas and material, and starting with one side, begin stapling the fabric to the frame. Staple the opposite side next, pulling the fabric as tight as possible. Fold the corners in on the last two sides, as if you were wrapping a present and finish stapling.

Voila!!! Original art for less than $20!!!

P.S. If you want, you can "seal" your fabric using ModPodge.
This will make it stiff and give it a little bit of a sheen.
