Friday Find... going orange!
Happy Halloween!! In the honor of pumpkins and all things orange, we thought it would be fun to show you some furniture we found in the lovely color orange. It's a color you do not see too often as a main color choice, but after seeing some of these photos I think I may have to find just the right piece to paint orange.

Friday Find 10.21.11: My Favorite Place to find Art and Accessories
My parents were in town last week, and my mom wanted to find some new accessories for her newly redecorated bathroom - so, we headed to one of my favorite spots, Garden Ridge! Whenever I'm needing some new art or accessories, it is my first stop. Imagine a store as big as Walmart, full of only home decor. Here are some pictures to give you an idea of what they have . . .
and this lovely magazine rack - or is it a log holder? I'm not sure - but I loved the little birds on it and I will probably paint it a fun color and use it for books and magazines, or maybe even put it in the shop.
This is what I came home with:
A cool, modern looking bowl/basket for staging, and this lovely magazine rack - or is it a log holder? I'm not sure - but I loved the little birds on it and I will probably paint it a fun color and use it for books and magazines, or maybe even put it in the shop.
They also have aisles and aisles of seasonal decor, furniture, and party-ware. I have gotten everything from pillows, place settings, art, mirrors, pottery, candles, and Christmas decor there, all at great prices.
So, have you been to Garden Ridge? Gotten anything good? Where are your favorite inexpensive places to shop for home decor?

Friday Find
Imagine the joy I had when I walked into my local Antique store and found a whole wall dedicated to one of my favorite things to collect. I was in Heaven!
Those of you who know me know that I am a complete sucker for all things blue and white. Plates especially. I will drop a pretty penny for an old plate. So when I found these blue and white plates, I knew they would eventually find a way inside my home. Although they are not old like most of my collection, I could not pass up the cute and fun folk art design they had - and lets not forget, they are the perfect color!
Thank you Rob Ryan for creating these beautiful plates!

Reclaimed Bookcase
We wrote about this project a long time ago, and forgot to post the final pictures here on our blog (there are more pictures on Facebook if you're interested!) It was a very fun project to do, and we love the way it turned out! By the way, if you would like a bookcase like this one, let us know - we think we can build one very similar, thanks to Jen's husband, our talented go-to guy for repairs and wood-working.
